Have you ever built a tower out of plastic eggs? It’s quite fun and challenging! But have you ever used shaving cream or even play dough to see how high your towers can really go? These are such amazing materials to use for engineering as well as for sensory stimulation while building these towers. My kids had a blast working with the materials and then playing right afterwards making their own creations. To help contain the educational mess, you can also use a large bin when building. Materials
- Plastic Eggs (Easter)
- Shaving Cream
- Play Dough
- FREE Egg Tower Building Printable
Instructions
- Separate your plastic eggs in halves. Use only one side of the egg halves so that it's equal in size to build with.
- Using your Free Printable, estimate how many eggs you can stack before it falls over.
- Next, build your tower using the eggs only. After it falls down, write down how many eggs were used in the appropriate spot in the printable. Fill in the rest of the questions.
- Repeat with play doh and shaving cream (save the shaving cream for last as that is the messiest!) and record your answers.
