I love holidays as this is where I get lots of inspiration to do themed activities with my boys. I especially love STEAM/STEM Challenges as this helps to foster creativity and individuality.

On for today’s challenge, I gathered a few engineering supplies for the kids to build their own Easter/Spring basket. They would have loved to use tape and popsicle sticks in addition to these materials, but I suggested to them to keep it to these supplies only. This will help to stretch their brain and help them think out of the box.
Materials:
- Scissors
- Twine
- Chenille Stems (pipe cleaners)
- Straws
- Mini Easter Eggs
Directions:
- Show inspirational pictures of other creations if necessary
- Gather supplies in a tray
- Assist kids as needed with cutting, tying knots, supporting materials, etc.
- Try to fit as many eggs in a basket as possible
- Discuss what materials they would add or take away and allow extra time to do so after this initial challenge is completed.
